Adams Radio Group is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic General Sales Manager, who will passionately represent our five brands on the Delmarva Peninsula (Salisbury-Ocean City, MD & Sussex County, DE), provide our clients with service quality beyond their expectations, and cultivate long-term customer relationships.

We are looking for a sales leader…that leads from the front. This is not a desk job. If you enjoy being front and center with clients and helping your Account Managers close business, this may be the perfect position for you.

GSM Responsibilities

• Coach and lead our team of Account Managers to meet/exceed revenue goals, prospect new business

• Oversee sales activities in the market; be accountable for achieving/ exceeding revenues goals.

• Manage sales team performance and hold team accountable to achieving goals

• Teach Account Managers how to sell ideas and create solutions

• Direct sales activities and processes that generate new business and expend existing business relationships.

• Set sales goals for account managers.

• Prepare budgets and revenue forecasts.

• Oversee sales inventory and manage rates to maximize revenue.

• Meet, service and collaborate to grow revenues from key accounts.

• Recruit, hire and train Account Managers.

• Go on sales calls and conduct in-field coaching to develop Account Managers.

• Monitor and manage CRM system.

• Train Account Manager using the Center for Sales Strategies Tools

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of broadcasting, marketing and promotions

• Proven ability to grow new business and find new revenue opportunities

• Excellent leadership and coaching ability; can successfully coach others in sales practices

• Deep understanding of local markets, customers, and competitors in order to target needs and drive sales

• Can create productive, long-term customer relationships.

• Excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and multi task

• Can push self and others to achieve and excel in a fast-paced dynamic environment

• Excellent business and people decision-making skills

• Can model positive energy and handle stress in the face of challenges, deadlines and financial pressures

• Flexibility and creativity

• Excellent communication and influencing skills across multiple groups

• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration with others

Work Experience

• 3+ years’ experience as a Senior Level Account Manager or General Sales Manager in radio with proven track record of success

Education

• 4-year college degree required
