Job Title: Assignment Editor (Night)
Job Description/Requisition Details: Candidates must be aggressive and proficient in managing crews, breaking news and daily news content. Must be able to effectively develop issue-oriented enterprise stories with a good range of content. Assist Reporters and Producers on daily news stories. Must be able to clearly understand and relate the details and elements needed in daily news coverage.
Must read and follow local and national news coverage. Must possess clear understanding of digital and social media. Must understand current technology, including Satellite vans, microwave and Dejero/Live Vue. Experience with Facebook and Skype. Must be able to conduct pre-interviews and interviews as needed. Must be able to write and post on digital. Be able to assist in coordinating talent appearances under supervision of the Managing Editor.
Qualifications:
Required: Two years newsroom experience.
Preferred: College degree
Familiar with iNews news computer system; personal computer; 2-way radio; Edit equipment; Proficient in internet research and social media.
